After losing a dear friend and label mate, having to perform on stage in Japan must have been difficult for TVXQ‘s Yunho and Changmin.
But the pair soldiered on last night, December 21, when the pair took to the state at the Tokyo Dome – the same day the late SHINee singer was buried in Seoul.
However, it all got too much for Yunho who broke down in the middle of a performance of “Somebody to Love” when he dropped to the floor and screamed Jonghyun‘s name.
Earlier in the evening, and the night before, the band members displayed a tribute message to Jonghyun on large LED screens at the concert venue.
“Jonghyun was like a dear brother to us TVXQ members,” it read. “He was such a talented singer, songwriter, and an artist that shined brightly on stage. But he has left our side as if he’s gone away on a long trip.”
“Although our hearts are filled with so much grief and sorrow, we will never forget him so please don’t forget him nor his music. We will do our best at our concert today thinking about Jonghyun, please cheer us on.’
