JYJ’s Park Yoochun was leader of the pack at the 2012 SBS Drama Awards last night.
The singer and actor took home four awards at the prized event, receiving the Excellence Award for a drama special, Top 10 Star Award, Viewer Popularity Award and Best Couple Award alongside Rooftop Prince co-star Han Ji Min.
While accepting his Excellence title, the 26-year-old gave an emotional speech, paying homage to his late father. “Thank you for your support,” he said. “I had fun while shooting Rooftop Prince, and I’m even more happy now that I’ve received such a great award… I want to share this moment with my father in heaven, who I missed so much while shooting Rooftop Prince, and whom I’ll always miss forever. I never really got to tell him that I love him when he was alive. I want to tell him now that I do love him.”
The event, which was hosted by former co-stars Jung Ryeo Won and Lee Dong Wook, also saw Kim Min Jong and Yoon Ji Ni received a Best Couple trophy for A Gentleman’s Dignity.
But it was the men who won most of the prizes, and attention, at the annual ceremony. The Chaser‘s Kim Sang Joong won an Excellence Award for a mini-series, So Ji Sub was given Best Excellence Award for a weekend series (Phantom), and SHINee’s Minho, actor’s Jung Eun Woo, Lee Hyun Woo and Lee Jong Hyun took New Star titles.
