It hasn’t been long since he started promoting himself as a solo artist, and now former INFINITE star Hoya is revealing why he decided to leave the group and start afresh.
Speaking on the December 6 episode of MBC’s Radio Star, the singer — who introduced himself as Lee Ho Won — explained that Hoya is a nickname he is ready to move on from. “Hoya was just a nickname that I was called since I was little,” he said. “I think it’s my first time introducing myself as Lee Ho Won on Radio Star.”
Opening up being asked to stay with the group and Woollim Entertainment he explained, “No matter if they tried to hold on to me or not, I made the decision because the direction I wanted to go was different from the agency. And my contract happened to come to an end around that period of time so I chose to leave.”
MC Kim Gu Ra mentioned that last year Hoya commented that he couldn’t imagine being without his band members, causing a few to chuckle in the studio. Fellow presenter Yoon Jon Shin added, “Well, the unimaginable happens nowadays.”
Indeed it does!
