Song Sun Mi has been charged by police for slandering her former manager.
Yongsan Police Station confirm that the actress was charged without sentencing on January 23.
A rep for the actress at Popeye Entertainment says: “Song was booked without detention following a police investigation that took place this year.
“She is currently waiting for the results of an investigation from prosecution.”
They add: “She had already been fine for the issue as a civil case last year, and this time it’s been brought on as a criminal case. We’re still waiting for the results of the investigation, but we’re sure it won’t affect her appearances.”
According to authorities, the 36-year-old actress allgedly insulted the head of her former agency at a press conference for the drama Golden Time in July 2012.
When asked about her court proceedings with the agency head, she had told reporters: “Sometimes you meet crazy dogs while walking the street, and I wonder whether I should react if the dog starts to bark at me.”
Police have today transferred the case to prosecution.
