SM Entertainment have given an inside look into the world of trainees with a special news feature produced by ABC News.
Filmed earlier this year, the story looks inside the gruelling process of becoming an idol star with SM Entertainment — as well as the rewards they may reap!
The segment points out that TVXQ’s Yunho and Changmin currently earn the company between $50 million to $100 million per year!
And now, claims ABC News, thousands of young Koreans are eager to follow suit — with K-pop music and dance classes even being taught at many schools across South Korea.

SMRookie’s member Mark Lee told reporter Joohee Cho of his training, which includes public speaking classes, language lessons, vocal training and more, “You have to be able to entertain people… You have to be able to be funny, humorous and have people like you.”
US production team The Stereotypes also spoke to the outlet, commending the lengthy training process most K-pop artists go through.
