She’s famous for her healthy physique, but Sistar’s Soyou says her approach to staying in shape wasn’t always so sensible when it came to dieting.
The 23-year-old idol admitted on OnStyle’s Get it Beauty show that in 2011 she once went on an extreme weight-loss plan in order to lose 17.5 pounds in a month.
“I worked out like crazy but didn’t eat like crazy,” the singer admitted on the June 24 episode of the health and lifestyle show. “From the moment I woke up to the moment I went to sleep, I did hot yoga, weight training, cardio, dance rehearsal and ran, on repeat.”
While her determined exercise efforts can be admired, the same can’t be said for her diet. She revealed, “For food, I ate four quail eggs without the yolk and one cup of milk.”
Looking back, Soyou says she regrets her approach to wanting to get in shape. “I realise that’s not proper exercising… it’s just ruining my body,” she confessed. “I would not recommend that.”
The “Shake It” K-pop star — who appeared on a “Get it Beauty MC’s Special Beauty Lecture” special episode — says she now looks after herself but doesn’t deprive herself of much, favourite exercise over dieting.

In a video for the site’s latest promotions, she shows off her perfect curves while doing a number of different exercises anyone can do at home, including stretches and lunches.
