Shanghai last night kicked off its annual film festival, a nine-day event celebrating the best in Hollywood and Chinese cinema. Korean stars including Park Shin Hye, Rain, Song Hye Kyo and Song Seung Heon joined the festivities, walking the carpet at the grand opening ceremony.
Flower Boys Next Door star Park scored a fashion hit when arriving at the Shanghai Grand Theater on Saturday, June 14, in a long black lace dress. The 24-year-old actress poured her curves in to the sophisticated gown, which she accessorised with an elegant clutch.
Rain wore a chic black tuxedo took to the carpet with Chinese actress Crystal Liu and current co-star. The pair — who are currently filming Beauty’s Dew together — laughed in front of the cameras as they signed a giant poster at the venue with gold pens.
Earlier in the day the 31-year-old “Love Song” singer spoke of his excitement to be at the 17th annual festival. “The movie scene here is very exciting,” he said of the country. “It feels like the whole industry is watching China at the moment and I’m happy to be a part of that.”
Song Hye Kyo attended as Asia’s representative star and wore an angelic pearl detail dress on the carpet with her hair loosely pulled back. The actress, 32, will star in upcoming Chinese film The Crossing, which will see international release at the end of the year.
