The US takeover begins. After much anticipation, will.i.am has revealed his latest collaboration with 2NE1.
The K-pop supergroup recorded hot dance track "Gettin' Dumb" with the Black Eyed Peas artist for his new album #willpower, out April 21. The dance anthem, track six on the release, contains will.i.am's trademark housey piano riffs, dubstep interludes and Peas bandmate appl.de.ap.
CL, 22, takes on the majority of the vocal duties, rapping, "They get none of my kitty kitty. / On my sh-t because it looks nice" and several other racy lines. Park Bom, 29, also, can be easily identified in the song, however Blackjacks (their fan group name) might be disappointed to see Minzy, 19, and Dara, 28, used more sparingly,
will.i.am, 38, has long be a fan of 2NE1. Last year he said: "I believe 2NE1 is the group that's going to be successful. Out of all the K-pop groups my gut tells me that 2NE1 will be the group that Americans love, Brazilians, Australians, British, German, French. The planet is going to like 2NE1."
Last year he started work with the girls on their first English language album, producing a handful of tracks, however YG Entertainment still remain tight-lipped on a release date, if any. 2NE1 also collaborated with will.i.am for an Intel promotion with the song "Take the World On".
