Lee Byung Hun is not going to attend the second hearing for his case against two women who allegedly blackmailed him for $4.6 million USD.

A rep for the 44-year-old movie star states that Lee will have to miss the second trial due to a business trip in the US.

"We received a request from him to attend the hearing as a witness, but his schedule in the US is requiring longer than expected and it will be difficult for him to attend the second hearing," said the spokeswoman. "His attendance as a witness will have to be postponed until he returns to Korea."

The Hollywood actor left for California on October 20 to attend events as a public relations ambassador to the California state tourist office, and is currently based in Los Angeles with actress wife Lee Min Jung. While the pair preferred to have kept their US stay secret, local residents have spotted the couple on an outing together.

In August, Lee Byung Hun filed a police complaint after being blackmailed by model Lee Ji Yeon and girl group GLAM’s Da Hee, who threatened to release a video which supposedly showed the GI:Joe star inebriated and behaving crudely unless a ransom of approximately $4.6 million USD (5 billion KRW) was paid.
