Congratulations! After the incredible season finale of The Producers aired on June 20, KBS2 have revealed that the show broke it’s own records to hit an all time high in the ratings.
According to Nielsen Korea, the drama series recorded an all time peak rating of 17.7% nationwide and 20.4% in one particular district of Korea -- Gwangju. To put things into perspective the first Producers episode achieved nationwide ratings of 10.1% while the season on average achieved 12.7%.
Both finale episodes were extended-length features, running at 90-minutes each! The whole nation -- and the 12 other Asian countries airing the whole -- have been gripped.
And it seems that everyone working on the show couldn't be happier with the score. Actress Gong Hyo Jin said goodbye to her character Tak Ye Jin via her Weibo account, writing, "Thank you everyone… Holding the Joon Mo [Cha Tae Hyun] support sign while filming... Producers Tak Ye Jin, goodbye."
In the accompanying photo the 35-year-old actress holds up a sign from co-star Cha that reads, "Good job. Gong-lovely!!"

Last week IdolWow! exclusively revealed that The Producers has already been renewed for a second season. "Halfway through the series the network executives realized it can't let the show end after just one run," said an insider. "A second series was ordered before they had even finished shooting."
