Her video for "Bad Blood" has just been nominated for the MTV VMA's Music Video of the Year, but it seems that Taylor Swift might not be the one who should be taking the credit.

The chart-topping singer has been accused of plagiarizing 2NE1's March 2014 music video for "Come Back Home," lifting their concept for her own mini-movie, which was released 14 months later.

Swift's VMA row with Nicki Minaj has been dominating the news all week, but took a sudden turn when one of the the rapper's fans pointed out the similarities between the videos in a tweet.

Twitter user @chaelinfenty wrote, "@NICKIMINAJ can we talk about how taylor's video isn't original and was copied from a group of four WOC, 2NE1," posting alongside a series of stills showing just how similar the videos look.

While the plot for both MVs are totally different, the visual concepts are eerily alike. Taylor plays a secret agent betrayed by Selena Gomez in hers, while the girls of 2NE1 tell the story of a fictional  future where people exist in Matrix-style virtual realities (which they set out to end).

One scene from 2NE1's video that stands out as almost identical is where CL is joined by her bandmates as she marches down a tunnel holding a flare. Swift does exactly the same in hers.

What's interesting is that "Bad Blood" was directed by Korean-American Joseph Kahn, who no doubt would have been aware of 2NE1's music video (although he claims he was unaware of the K-pop track and doesn't listen to the genre).

Kahn -- who has worked with the likes of U2, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey and many more -- wrote on his website about the similarities after popular pop culture website The Muse pointed out the evidence.

He wrote, "All of the comparisons are common sci fi tropes -- city, cars, helmets, body scans, flares -- all recropped without context. Furthermore recording screen grabs and accusing others of copying their groups is apparently a very common hobby of K-pop fans. If you view both videos, aside from the uncontextual limited screen grabs, you will quickly see they are completely different videos."

It's not been an easy week for Swift. The feud between the her and Minaj erupted when the 32-year-old fumed about "Anaconda" being snubbed by MTV for the top prize, and tweeted a swipe at MTV, which the "Shake it Off" singer mistakenly took personally by rashly hitting back with a public response.

Calls to Swifts camp have yet to be returned but a YG Entertainment spokesman says he is "aware of the stories" but has no further comment.
