With his EXO days firmly behind him, Tao is officially ready to return to the stage as a solo singer.
Since heading to Los Angeles two months ago, the 22-year-old boy band sensation has been hard at work preparing for his solo debut.
New pictures released by his own management company Huang Z. TAO Studio reveal the former EXO-M idol hard at work in a recording studio, where he has been making new music with composer Tayla Parx, who has worked with the likes of Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande and Jason Derulo.
He's also photographed at a dance rehearsal studio in a casual outfit and baggy white tank top. His US choreographer can clearly be seen in one of the shots.
Tao -- real name Huang Zitao -- uploaded a teaser image on his Weibo account featuring himself dressed in a black fur coat and rocking fluorescent purple hair.
An accompanying message read, "On July 23, Z.TAO will announce his first mini album as a solo artist, marking his official comeback."

Although SM Entertainment is still yet to officially announce the Chinese-born singer's departure from EXo, all trances of the idol have recently been removed from EXO-M’s official Facebook page. And Tao himself has unfollowed all of his former bandmates.
