Fresh from his departure from EXO, former member Tao went solo to attend a Wednesday, June 3, event in Beijing, China, to promote a mobile video game.

The 22-year-old singer was introduced to fans and press with no mention of his SM Entertainment background or Korean stage name. Instead an MC at the Chao Shen Zhan Dui launch, referred to him as "Asian idol Huang Zitao".

Not mentioning EXO or his SM-given name is probably due to the fact that he is currently in the middle of a legal battle with the company to be released from his contract and using these names would likely result in heavy financial penalties. Onlookers say Tao -- who was dressed in a blue suit -- seemed "relaxed and happy" as he spoke to the audience, before taking part in a meet and greet with fans. "He signed as many autographs as he could," one fan commented after the event.
