Another one bites the dust. Singer Areum is leaving girl group T-ara, IdolWow! can confirm.
On July 10, the band’s agency Core Contents Media revealed that the 19-year-old T-ara sweetheart would be parting with the group to pursue a solo career.
A rep explains: "She plans to engage with her musical inclination towards hip-hop, but also do ballads and even pursue acting."
Areum also leaves behind a spot in sub-unit group, T-ara N4, which will be filled by 14-year-old American-born trainee, Dani, who joins both groups in December.
But despite the sudden departure, it's business as usual for T-ara, who will continue as a six-piece group at their two-night Nippon Budokan concert in Japan on Friday, July 12.

Meanwhile a spokesman for the group has made an official appeal to media outlets to refrain from speculating over reasons behind Areum's departure.
After former member Hwayoung left T-ara in July 2012 amidst controversy over being bullied out of the group, similar speculations are surfacing at pace.
