They may be an unlikely pairing, but Miss A's Suzy and legendary actor Ryu Seung Ryong have been cast together to play a student and teacher in a new period movie.
Dorihwaga is named after a type of "pansori", a Korean genre of musical storytelling performed by a vocalist and a drummer which was created by artist Shin Jae Hyo (who will be played by Ryu).
The movie is set in the 1800s and will see Suzy take on the role of Shin’s favourite student, who trains under him during a time when the genre was going through a radical change.
While Suzy, 19, has proved her acting chops in many contemporary projects, including Gu Family Book, she is still said to be researching hard to perfect this role.
