He's a successful model-turned-actor but Song Jae Rim has admitted to some of his own physical insecurities — including trying to lose weight.
After recently playing a kendo martial arts instructor on KB2's Unkind Women, the 30-year-old actor revealed that now that he is older, he finds it more difficult to maintain his physique.
"I used to be 59kg [130 pounds] at 180cm [5 feet 10] in height before," the actor told Newsen. "But now I have gained 15kg [33 pounds]. I gained weight intentionally in my 20s but in my 30s now I gain weight merely eating three meals a day."
The screen star continued to describe his struggles, saying, "I tried exercising but I didn't lose weight. I couldn't fight the hunger after weightlifting or the massive food cravings after kendo."
After many fans speculated on whether Song received plastic surgery due to his changes in appearance, particularly his jawline, the actor also shed light on the matter denying his involvement with plastic surgery: "I have never had plastic surgery because I have have never rested for more than two months at a time!"
"I think my face can appear very different from different angles. I also have relatively high cheek bones and may have got muscles in my cheeks from smiling a lot habitually."
