Seohyun Says Girls' Generation Are "Excited" to Go Up Against Wonder Girls in Charts

The girl group summer chart battle is sizzling but Girls' Generation say they are happy that the Wonder Girls are in it with them.

Member Seohyun said that she is excited that her band is promoting alongside their JYP competitors (both groups debuted in 2007).

The Girls' Generation gang spoke about the rivalry at their press conference for new comeback track release "Party" on July 7 at the Banyan Tree Hotel in Seoul.

And the 24-year-old SNSD sweetheart expressed her sentiment on launching their new track amidst a gaggle of other girl groups.

She said, "I was excited at the news that the Wonder Girls would be promoting around the same time as us. They are fellow colleagues and we have promoted with them before."

The songstress explained that the sheer choice of girl groups on show allows viewers to observe each group’s differences and unique traits, and that "girl power" is a welcome theme.

Girls' Generation made their long-awaited comeback yesterday, over a year since their last album, and title track "Party" has already taken top spot in eight leading Korean charts and iTunes charts across seven Asian countries including Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam. Girl Power indeed!
