Talent show K-Pop Star is back! And judges Park Jin Young, Yang Hyun Suk and Yoo Hee Yeol are building anticipation for the fourth season by spilling a few new secrets.
On November 17, the three music execs held a press conference for K-Pop Star 4 at the SBS HQ in Mokdong, sharing their thoughts and opinions about the upcoming season.
Park Jin Young, head of JYP Entertainment, revealed, "I don't think of it as a TV show, but I consider it an actual audition. I will give tips to young and talented participants."
Yang Hyun Suk, CEO of YG Entertainment suggests, "This fourth season is probably the best so far."
Yoo Hee Yeol, owner of Antenna Music and host of popular music program Sketchbook, explains the high stakes involved in the show by saying, "This is an audition or a TV show for us, but I know it means everything to the participants."
As primarily a musician and songwriter himself, Yeol, 43, feels a special empathy for the contestants and explained, "Since I understand that very well, I will do my best as a judge."
He is the newest judge on the panel, replacing singer BoA after her departure.
Meanwhile, Hi Suhyun – a new duo created from past K-Pop Star participants Lee Hi, runner-up from season one, and Lee Su Hyun, half of third season winners Akdong Musician – have recently begun promotions for their new single "I'm Different."
Both artists signed with YG Entertainment after participating in K-Pop Star.
