PSY's "Gentleman" may be all the rage on YouTube, but SuperStar K4 winner Roy Kim, has soared to the top of the music charts in Korea.
The singer's sweet new single "Spring Spring Spring" is ranked number one on the Naver Music, Bugs Music, Soribada and Olleh Music charts. It even stands at number one on Korea's largest music website, Melon.
What is the key to the 20-year-old's success? "I tried a lot of experimental performances [on Superstar K4]," he told Mnet's JJang in January. "A lot of people chose comfortable songs... I took that risk to try new things on each show and fortunately people liked it."
Kim also released the music video for the number one single today. The simple film features the singer playing his guitar, surrounded by artificial outdoor scenes - a beautiful Spring day constructed in the viewer's eyes.
Pop-folk song "Spring Spring Spring" (or "Bom Bom Bom" in Korean) is the follow-up to Kim's November debut single "Passing By".
