An MBC journalist has been attacked online by Sistar fans after writing negative comments about member Hyorin’s love of her pets and God.
After a January 23 broadcast featuring the 24-year-old Sistar diva and her love for cats and her religious principles, one of MBC’s own journalists, Kim Sae Ui, took to his Facebook page and publicly expressed his discontent over his viewing.
"Even as someone who really likes animals and girl groups, I’m really sick of Sistar’s Hyorin on I Live Alone," Kim wrote, adding, "They chose the wrong concept. Although I do have a little abhorrence towards cats as someone who has raised a cat myself, I’m still really sick of watching a woman who does nothing but look to the Lord and to cats all day long. Everything in moderation please."
The native Korean journalist went on to say, "In the future, I don’t want to see Hyorin on an MBC variety show again."
The post caused a wave of online readers to defend Hyorin, arguing that Kim was being overly critical of a celebrity and his own company’s program.
But some commentators took the defense too far, with one writing on Twitter, "This guy deserves to die — good idea?" (The original post has since been removed).

An MBC rep tells IdolWow! that no action has been taken against Kim and that they are "investigating what really happened." A spokesman for Hyorin had no comment.
