Rain has officially signed with label Cube DC -- a division unit of Cube Entertainment -- as he takes one step closer to releasing his first music material in over two years.

His Cube DC labelmates include Roh Ji Hoon, Kwang Seung Nam and Jung Ji Hoon, while Cube Entertainment manages B2ST, 4minute, G.Na and BtoB.

The 31-year-old singer completed his mandatory two-year Korean military service in July and has since been keeping busy with recording sessions and even a stage show. He recently performed at Thailand's annual "Sonic Bang" music festival alongside the likes of Jason Mraz and Far East Movement.

After the festival, Rain spoke about his future music plans: "I haven't planned anything yet. I just continually practice and prepare to deliver the best concerts for my fans." He added that that a new album was in the works but couldn't offer a date.

And music isn't the only thing on Rain's mind at the moment. He also revealed some other plans: "I'd like to go backpacking alone! I've never travelled alone before. I want to gain new experiences, see new cultures, and find something to eat by myself and meet new foreign friends."

It was revealed in July that Rain is also in talks with hip-hop mogul Jay-Z's record label for an overseas deal.
