After 21 months away from the entertainment industry, Rain was discharged from the Korean Army today, July 10. And he is already getting back to work.
The 31-year-old pop icon was ended his time in the military after serving 21 months of mandatory service as a PR agent for the country's Defense Media Agency.
Upon his Yongsan base departure, the entertainer was greeted by masses of fans who, despite the hot weather, had gathered outside since the early hours of the morning.
Rain is already preparing for a musical comeback. In May it was confirmed he has signed with Cube Entertainment, who also manage the likes of B2ST, 4Minute and G.Na.
"Rain is excited to get back in the studio, come up with new concepts and ideas," a source tells IdolWow!. "He can't wait to show a more mature side to his fans."

Cube founder and CEO, Hong Seung Sung, watched over Rain's early career days when he was was the president of JYP. Industry watchers say the "Rainism" stars move to Hong's agency is an act of loyalty.
In January, Rain was caught up in a storm of controversy when he was photographed leaving his army base while on duty to meet with girlfriend Kim Tae Hee.
"It's been difficult for them to meet," a source said at the time. "He's doing his best to make it work."
