It's barely been two months since Leeteuk joined the South Korean military service, but he's been greatly missed.

And now fans can rejoice because the Super Junior star has announced he will be returning to the stage.

As part of his military duties, Leeteuk has joined the cast of The Promise, a musical created by the Ministry of National Defense and the Korea Musical Theatre Association to remember the Korean War and its veterans.

During a press conference and open rehearsal at Seoul Olympic Park this morning, Leeteuk, 29, spoke to reporters about his part: "I play the role of Miss Kim, who grew up in the family full of women. So he is girly and sensitive... I think he is a lot like me."

When asked about how his life has changed, he said: "I used to perform as Leeteuk of Super Junior [but now] I'm Private Park Jung Soo in the Korean Army."

The "Mr Simple" singer stars in the show alongside fellow entertainers Ji Hyun Woo, 28, actor Kim Mu-yeol, 30, and Supernova's Yoon Hak, 28, who said: "It’s a subject on war that international fans will have a hard time understanding, but we will make a stage that will touch even the international fans."

Added Leeteuk: "I will do my best so people will say, ‘Of course, that is Super Junior’s Leeteuk'."

The Promise will run from January 8 to January 20, 2013 at the National Theater in Seoul.
