What a slim down!

Shin So Yul may cut a trim figure on the drama Reply 1997, but the actress says she wasn't always in such good shape.

The 25-year-old revealed a photo of herself weighing 165 pounds (75kg) just five years ago while appearing on MBC's Talk Club Actors variety show.

"I used to be a lot heavier [at 20]," she admitted. "I wish I could say I lost [the weight] because I wanted to become an actress but I actually lost the weight because of [my then] boyfriend.

"My boyfriend didn't look at me as a woman but as a donseng [Korean for little sister]."

Shin said her heavier size was down to unhealthy eating, but, she explained, "I starved myself for a month to lose it… no exercise."

The results were a jaw-dropping 44 pound (20kg) weight loss in just one month.

"I don't recommend that way to anyone," she has previously said of the loss. "It's not healthy. At the time I just didn't know what to do."
