What a day for Jaejoong fans!
After releasing photos of his new rockier look, tickets for the JYJ singer's first solo event sold out within two minutes, a rep confirms.
The Your, My, Mine mini concert and fan meeting, which will be held in Seoul on January 26 and 27, sold its limited 16,000 tickets so quickly that online servers for sales crashed after hundreds of thousands of fans tried to log in.
A C-JeS spokesperson tells IdolWow!: "Fans from not only Japan and China logged on, but also Europe and North and South America. It was the greatest number of people trying to access the site in its history."
Earlier today, 26-year-old Jaejoong posted the first photos from his solo debut, revealing a darker, more artistic look than fans have been used to.
But the result has been a success. Although the album, "Mine", is not released until January 17, pre-release track "One Kiss" is currently storming up the download charts.
The rockier sound is a vast departure for the former TVXQ star, but he said last month that he wants fans to see him in a new light: "Through my concert, I hope that it will be a chance for my fans to get in touch with a different side of me."
Jaejoong admits to writing most of the material on the new LP, sharing experiences from his life in the lyrics. "As I was writing the lyrics for this album, I thought about all of the stories I wanted to tell," he explains. "It's everything that has made me happy."
