A photo of IU's 'true' body size became a trending topic online yesterday, after an anonymous web post showed the singer standing next to a 'normal' woman.
The 2012-dated picture shows the petite singer, who is currently preparing for a spring comeback, in a red check dress talking to a friend.
Since revealing on her blog that she weighs 97 pounds (44kg), the 19-year-old has been the centre of much debate in Korean media, who have dubbed the singer's slim frame as a 'baby body'.
"It's just that my bones are thin, so they can appear thin even when I have some meat on them," the 5-foot-3 (162cm) star has explained. "I suddenly lost a lot of weight [in 2011] and so people have been saying that I looked starved, and that I look like an elementary school student."
To prove that she is a normal weight, the "You & I" star took to the scales on SBS' Strong Heart in May.
"On average, female celebrities [in South Korea] weigh about 45kg [100 pounds]," she said after her stats were recorded. "I want to now say that too have the figure of a celebrity."
Fans will be able to judge for themselves when IU co-hosts SBS's Song Competition at Korea University on December 29.
