It's the end of an era. Park Han Byul has chopped off her luscious locks for an upcoming role in new romantic comedy A Well Grown Daughter.
The 29 year-old actress will play character Jang Hana who disguises herself as a young man to inherit her family's large soy sauce corporation.
"A glamorous hairstyle is an important part of an actress' image, but Park Han Byul parted ways with her long hair without hesitation," a production source on the drama reveals. "[Her actions] showed determination and passion."
Park -- Se7en's girlfriend of 11 years -- was praised on her first day of filming at a performing arts high school in Seoul earlier this month. Her character Hana is a top beauty ("ulzzang" in Korean) but has to dress up in a boy's school uniform to look like a guy. "The tough producers were amazed at her smooth transition into a tomboy," adds the source.
"I think the role of Jang Hana will be my greatest gift of the year," Park said of the drama series. "I'm really excited for people to see the show."
