AOA brought out their inner feline for during an album showcase performance for new single, "Like A Cat", which features the group with a sexy new concept.
On Monday, November 10, at Yes 24 Muv Hall in Seoul, the seven member group (Choa, Jimin, Yuna, Hyejeong, Mina, Seolhyun and Chanmi) gave audiences a glimpse of their upcoming album by performing their new Brave Brothers produced tracks wearing sexy cat outfits and teasing with some purrr-fect dance moves.
Choa, 24, told reporters that the forthcoming album’s concept is cat women and the group turned to Broadway for some musical and feline inspiration.
"We wondered how we could be sexy, voluptuous and more like a cat, so we watched the musical Cats and studied the cats that come out on SBS’ Animal Farm," the singer explained.
The title track "Like A Cat" is about a woman’s desire to appear beautiful in the eyes of the one she loves and the performance features cat-like moves.
Choa further revealed of their inspiration, "AOA is a transforming group. We constantly think about and research what the public wants to see. It is the result that came out from constantly changing based on the public’s taste."
Added Jimin, 23, "We returned as cat women because we wanted to show the fans more special and charismatic sides of us."
Noticeably absent from the performance and press conference was former member Youkyoung, The ladies alluded to her being axed from the group by simply explaining themselves as a "a transforming group."
Fans can get their paws on AOA’s second mini album on Tuesday, November 11, when it is released via Korea’s online music services.
