In response to the recent downturn in Korean tourism due to the outbreak of MERS virus, a Korean organization have proposed to turn remote deserted islands into Hallyu-themed islands parks.

On June 28 a representative from the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) said, "Foreigners who are crazy about Hallyu often come come to Korea and find there’s not much live Korean entertainment to enjoy.

"Let’s build a Hallyu performance arena in Seoul plaza and turn the 3,237 islands we have -- the fourth largest cluster of islands in the world -- into Hallyu star islands.”

The proposal motions to see the sale of remote islands to fan clubs of Korean idol stars and suggested the idea of an EXO island or a Kim Soo Hyun island!

While both Kim, 27, and EXO are indeed major stars across Asia and are great ambassadors for promoting Korean tourism, naming entire islands after celeb stars is unheard of!
