Former K-pop singer Ko Young Wook has been jailed after an arrest warrant was issued by authorities today in Seoul.
Ko, who faces child molestation charges, cooperated with authorities after the warrant was issued and was escorted to the Seoul Western District Court at around 10am, local time.
A spokesman at the Court says there were concerts Ko would try and go into hiding. "The warrant was issued as there was a possibility Mr. Ko Young Wook may attempt to destroy any evidence or flee."
Upon entering the Court house, Ko publicly spoke for the first time since the report was filed with police. "I'm sorry for causing such trouble," he said, bowing his head down. "I will help the investigation as much as I can."
He will remain in police custody for further questioning.
The former Roo'Ra star is being investigated for allegedly having illicit sex with and molesting minors. Most recently, on January 1, he was charged with molesting a female middle school student. Ko denied the charges when questioned two days later.
The case continues.
