Shamed 90s idol Ko Young Wook admitted today in court to non-consensual physical contact with his victims, as he appealed against his sentence.

At a Seoul Western District Court hearing, the former Roo'Ra band member withdrew his plea from not guilty and appealed for a more lenient sentence towards his crimes, which he feels is too harsh in relation to the scope and scale of the incidents.

In April the 37-year-old was sentenced to five years in prison for sexual harassment against three minors, ordered to wear an electronic tag for 10 years, and entered into the public register as a sex offender for seven years.

Ko's legal representative confessed during the hearing: "Parts of the allegations have been exaggerated but it is true there was some non-consensual physical contact involved.

"He misinterpreted his relationship with the subjects and it is true that he kissed them and touched their thighs."

The next hearing is set to be held on June 28.
