Kim Hyun Joong’s ex-girlfriend has denied accepting a financial bribe to settle their domestic violence case out of court.
A representative for the 28-year-old singer's former flame — who can’t be named for legal reasons — says in a statement, "Ms A communicated that she does not wish for Kim Hyun Joong to be punished."
The legal rep also stated that singer had met in person with his former partner and delivered a sincere apology which "Ms. A" had subsequently accepted.
Adds the Sun & Partners spokesman: "No financial bribe or settlement was offered or accepted. This is not true."
Kim was first charged for repeated physical assaults against his ex last month. Last week the "Timing" singer admitted to a one time incident and later added that he was ashamed "to have done something that no man should do."

While the charges have been dropped, Kim's admission to assault effectively opens him to an independent investigation and possibility of punishment regardless of the withdrawal.
