JYJ's Kim Junsu had the audience at his first orchestral concert in Seoul in tears last night, December 30.
Singing against a choir, orchestra and band, the JYJ singer stunned the crowd with his strong vocals and emotional ballads at the COEX D Hall in Seoul.
The concert opened with a video of Junsu looking through a book of memories and realising that he has fulfilled so many of his dreams. As the clip played, "I Am Music" from the Austrian musical Mozart! began, which was his first performance of the evening.
"Mozart! is the what helped me perform in musicals for the first time," he says. "It gave me a meaningful award [when he picked up the rookie award at the 16th Korea Musical Awards in 2010."
Junsu, 26, has spent over a month preparing for the three-night 150-minute 2012 Xia Ballad & Music Concert with Orchestra show. "It's something I had dreamed about since I was young," he says.
Fans from around the world could be found in the audience for the extravaganza, where he performed songs from his albums and musicals, including an acoustic version of "Tarantallegra". Also present was CJeS label mate Song Ji Hyo, who Junsu serenaded when singing "Because You're My Girl".
"All of his performances were touching," says Song. "I had a special time crying and laughing with him. I felt Junsu's energy and strength on stage and it was great."
The final concert from the show will take place on December 31, where Junsu will see in the New Year with his fans.
