IU is growing up on her terms. The actress returned to her idol roots during a showcase today for her third studio album "Modern Times". And while her October 7 performance was clearly more raunchy than before, Korea's "little sister" says she is not trying make this a sexy comeback.
After performing single "The Red Shoes", the 20-year-old told reporters at the K-Art Hall in Seoul's Olympic Park: "I think the producer had the intention [of a sexier image]. I did say that I should show a sexier side, but that didn't mean I wanted to put too much emphasis on sexiness... I don't think 'Red Shoes' is much different from my usual image."
The singer -- who recently dyed her hair blonde -- was humble when it was suggested she had nailed the sexy makeover. "Do you believe I have the ability to become sexy?" she laughed. "You know, I heard it doesn't work for everyone. But I don't have a strong desire to do it."

IU revealed she has written two songs for the album, which is already number one on most Korean music charts. "I put in two self-composed tracks," she said. "'Bad Day' and 'Voice Mail'. They're songs I wrote a while ago actually, but... my company doesn't like 'Voice Mail'."
Despite her success in music, IU says she won't be turning her back on acting. "You're The Best, Lee Soon Shin was a great networking opportunity," she said of her time filming with Jo Jung Suk and Lee Mi Sook. "I had such a fun time filming for the drama during those six months. I was so tired, but it was a really happy time because I learned so much. I met many sunbaes [senior actors]."
