All good things come to and end. Jewelry, one of K-pop’s first generation big name girl groups, are calling it quits after 14 years.

The disbanding of the group was officially confirmed by their agency Star Empire and comes as the remaining members’ contracts reach expiration.

After two of the group’s four resident members -- Eunjung and Baby J (real name Ha Joo Yeon) -- left the group last year and member Semi decided to not renew her contract this year, the only remaining member was Yewon, which made it impossible to continue with group’s activities.

Sources close to the group say their parting of ways was "pleasant and respectful." Former member Seo In Young -- who was part of an earlier lineup -- posted a sweet photo on Wednesday, January 6, showing a gathering of both former and recent members coming together in a restaurant to joyfully commemorate the legacy that the Jewelry sisterhood leaves behind.

The band first debuted in 2001 with four original members Jung A, Ji Hyun, Yoo Jin, and Eun Mi, who were progressively substituted with the recent four mentioned above as each member diverged to different career paths. They noticed up a number of top 10 hits, including "Love Story" and "Hot & Cold" as well as numerous releases in Japan.
