YG Entertainment's new rookie group Ikon has finally been given a debut date.
Following many weeks of delays, YG’s head honcho Yang Hyuun Suk has revealed that Ikon will be making their debut on September 15.
Says Yang, "With Big Bang releasing a new track every month until September 1 we have not had a moments rest. It was not easy to film two music videos at a time. Due to this we had to adjust Ikon's schedules so that it didn’t overlap with Big Bang’s."
He also that revealed that the seven-member group have self-produced over 50 tracks but most have been rejected by the label in the name of quality control!
Yang, 45, continued, "The cornerstone of our work is in making these groups as long-lasting as Big Bang. Whilst building YG to what it is today, I have always put the greatest importance on equipping our musicians with the ability to create the very music they will sing to by themselves."
Ikon -- which consists of members B.I, Bobby, Jinhwan, Junhoe, Yunhyeong and Donghyuk -- was formed through YG and Mnet's talent survival program Mix & Match in June 2014.
