It's only been a week since filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to get out of his contract, but EXO's Luhan is already getting started on a new career in his homeland of China with a potential new drama.
The 24-year-old Beijing-born singer has reportedly expressed interest in a role on the upcoming Chinese drama, Zhu Xian. Local Chinese media outlet Xin Xi Shi Bao reports that the singer has approached top Chinese actress Yang Mi — who is set to star in the drama — and suggested they worked on the project together.
A rep for the 28-year-old actress confirms, "It's true that we had a talk regarding Luhan's appearance in Zhu Xian. But we cannot say for certain whether he will be acting alongside her yet. Since we have not finished talking with Luhan, we cannot tell you anything at this point."
However, after the frenzy following Luhan's lawsuit against SM Entertainment and return to China, rumors have been spreading like wildfire in the country about what the idol will do next, which has led to many contradictory stories.
According to another report from China's Southern Metropolis Entertainment Weekly, Yang Mi’s agency have also stated, "We don’t have plans to scout for a new male actor. As the drama is in the planning stages, the director and actors are not finalized yet." (A rep declined to comment when contact by IdolWow!).

Meanwhile, rumors are still abuzz surrounding Luhan's lawsuit against SM Entertainment, which he filed on October 10. The Korean agency have since released a statement suggesting the star is prioritizing his personal gain and is being subject to some outside influence, possibly related to his future activities in China.
