Watching Girls' Generation effortlessly glide through Seoul's Incheon Airport on June 14, you'd be forgiven for thinking that their trip to Thailand had gone without any hitches.
But a source tells IdolWow!, a hot day of filming on one of the country's islands nearly turned into a crisis for the group -- with several members almost collapsing from heatstroke.
While shooting scenes for their comeback music video on June 11 at a private beach in Koh Samui in Thailand, the hot and humid summer weather got the better of several of the band's members after temperatures rose up to 99-degrees fahrenheit (37-degrees celsius)!
A set source says that several members including Sunny and Sooyoung "were close to fainting... it got pretty serious and they had to call time on filming while everyone did their best to get in the shade and cool down. Everyone was worried." (Calls to SM Entertainment have yet to be returned).
Apparently cool packs, fans and coolers full of ice-cold drinks were rushed to the set, where everyone gathered underneath a gazebo away from the glare of the sun.
The local adds, "The weather was crazy, it rained at lunchtime but the rain did little to cool anything down, instead it just got hotter as the day progressed. Everyone was struggling."
Despite the tough conditions, the insider says that all of the members were pros, putting their all into every scene that was shot. "Seeing them at work, you really realise you are in the company of true professionals. I don't think many people could have pushed through the way they did."

After the long day on set, the girls were finally able to cool down and relax in their own ocean-fronted pool villas at the five-star Silavadee Pool Spa Resort, the most luxurious resort on the island of Koh Samui.
"We loved having them here," a spokesman for the resort tells IdolWow! of their stay at the popular vacation spot. "They had a good time."
Girls' Generation are currently preparing for a July return to the charts with a single that has been described as having a "hot summer theme". How apt!
