CNBlue's Jung Yong Hwa has been confirmed to take the lead role in upcoming tvN drama The Three Musketeers.

A spokesman for the singer at FNC Entertainment tells IdolWow!: "Jung Yong Hwa will star as the male lead. Filming will start shortly."

The series is based on the original Alexandra Dumas novel of the same title, but set early on in Korea's Joseon dynasty (which began in 1392).

The 24-year-old band leader -- whose first acting role was in the 2009 SBS drama You're Beautiful -- will play a character named Park Dal Hyang, a skilled martial artist and brave soldier known throughout the Joseon and Qing dynasty, and the equivalent of the character of D’Artagnan in the original novel.
