After post-EXO audition claims were denied, a director has revealed that band member Kris is planning to take on one of his movie projects.
At the Shanghai International Film Festival on Monday, June 16, Chinese movie maker Guo Jingming announced that the 23-year-old singer is being lined up to star in a future project.
He told reporters at a press conference for movie Tiny Times 3.0, "Yifan [Kris’s Chinese name] is a good actor. We will come up with a very exciting and cool project."
Guo, 31, continued, "Our project is going to be quite a fun and mysterious one. I can't say anything right now, but when the time is right, you'll find out."
The 31-year-old director rose to fame in China as the writer of the best-selling novel series, Tiny Times. The romantic melodrama books also achieved him notoriety in the film world after big screen adaptations broke box office records.
Following the filmmaker's comments in Shanghai, he wrote on Chinese social media site, Weibo, "It’s strange how human ties work. I was close to working with Kris last year but failed, due to the agency. But all ties in the world lead people to meet again, despite their time away from each other." Kris reposted the post seven minutes later.
On May 15, the EXO-M leader filed a lawsuit against agency SM Entertainment expressing his wish to terminate his contract and leave the group.
