Americans watched in horror last night when two bombs exploding near the finish line of the annual Boston Marathon killed three people and injured at least 144 others.
As the country puts on a display of solidarity and strength, K-pop stars including Jay Park, f(x)'s Amber and 2PM's Taecyeon have joined those offering support and prayer during this difficult time.
"#prayforboston stay strong, stay strong," Amber tweeted. "The world is a dark place, lets [sic] be the light #prayforboston."
Aziatix posted a group message after the tragic news: "Our prayers go out to Boston and everyone affected by this tragedy #prayforboston RIP. Please take every precaution possible."
2PM member Taecyeon, who grew up in Boston, said he was "praying for boston". Nichkhun added: "Boston. We are all praying for you."
Korean-American singer Eric Nam posted: "My condolences and heart go out to everyone in Boston. Praying for you all." Epik High's Tablo offered a similar message of support: "a prayer for everyone affected by the boston attack."
SM Entertainment, who represent the likes of SHINee and Girl's Generation, send their message out via Facebook, writing: "Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by today's tragedy at the #BostonMarathon."
Other celebrities who tweeted their support included G-Dragon, Brian Joo, Yoon Mi Rae, miss A's Jia, Lydia Paek, EvoL‘s Say and Hayana.
The American Red Cross asks people - particularly those in Boston - to visit the Safe and Well website to let loved ones know they are safe.
