"I just entered into [the fourth month of] my pregnancy, but I started to suddenly gain a lot of weight for the first time in months," the 37-year-old told the SBS show. "My doctor recommended light exercise, so I did some swimming and special fitness training for pregnant women. But, in the end, I think it was because of an infection [that caused the miscarriage].
"They say that it can happen at anytime. When I asked my doctor at the hospital, even he couldn't give me an exact answer."
Baek -- who married actor Jung Seok Won, 28, in June -- says she plans to halt all her music work for the time being, instead focussing on her marriage and starting a family.
"Honestly, one thing I want to say is that unlike relationships or marriage, the pain of a miscarriage isn't something I can easily just talk about," she said, holding back tears. "I am going to have a child, and I will need to spend some time just as a mother. I want to concentrate on my child and family, eventually release one more quality album, then retire."
Baek added: "My husband has been my rock... a strong support system. I've been able to rely on him. While in the hospital, he made me laugh a lot."

She also revealed denied that the couple's pregnancy forced them to marry early. While they originally planned to wed in August, Baek said it just felt right to bring it forward two months.
