The wait is over! Girls' Generation fans didn't just count down to New Year last night, but also a brand new music video from the group.
And after several appetite whetting teasers, the video for "I Got a Boy" has finally landed today, January 1. And, boy, does it not disappoint!
SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO
The five minute clip, which tells the story of a guy who cheats on all nine members, reveals an edgier side to the group than usual, with the girls rapping, street dancing, booty-shaking and strutting towards the camera.
Fashion-wise, the outfits are on trend. Acid-washed denims, snapback caps, bejewelled sneakers and leopard print are served up in large quantities.
And gone are their trademark heels. In the music video, the band are wearing all flats shoes so they can dance to their absolute best ability.
The routines are sexier than ever. Hip twists, booty shaking, winding - they prove that, once again, Girls' Generation can do anything.
"We put our all in to the dances," Jessica, 23, has said. "The music and the dancing has to come together perfect. Only then will we feel satisfied with the performance."
Sooyoung, 22, said in a recent video message that she has high hopes for their 2013 comeback and the year ahead. "If I had a wish, it would be for Girls' Generation's upcoming comeback album successful," she revealed.
The group will be busy working to make that dream a reality. This month their promotional schedule is jam-packed, with public appearances, photo shoots, live TV performances and more.
First up? Later today their Romantic Fantasy comeback special will air on MBC, followed by a stage performance at M! Countdown on January 3.
The album goes on sale (in stores and download) on Wednesday.
