2PM’s Nichkhun broke down in tears over his 2012 DUI charges while on stage for the group's Legend of 2PM concert in Japan.

The 24-year-old singer took a moment at the April 21 Tokyo Dome show to apologize to fans for the drink driving incident, however was unable to contain his strong emotions.

He told the 55,000-strong crowd: "You must have all suffered dearly because of me, yet I'm grateful for your continued faith and love for me." Wiping his eyes, he promised a "greater attitude" to his comeback in Korea next month.

Earlier in the evening, Nichkhun had spoken openly about the incident. "I've had a lot of thoughts," he stated. "I confess to my wrongdoings. Anyone can make mistakes but I think the worst is to repeat mistakes. I made a stupid mistake and I will make sure I never do it again.

"I was very sorry to my fellow members, agency staff and our fans. I will show you how much I have developed and matured in my comeback. I missed you so much."

Nichkhun was found guilty of drinking under the influence of alcohol after he hit a motorcyclist with his car at an intersection in Seoul after a company dinner last summer. The singer ceased his activities immediately at the time and took time out to "reflect and repent".

April 21 was final night of 2PM's sell-out Legend of 2PM show. During the concert they performed 33 songs for almost four hours.
