Almost one year since she left Girls’ Generation, Jessica Jung has finally ended her contract with SM Entertainment.
The Korean agency announced today, August 6, via statement that the two have mutually parted company.
“After discussing with Jessica, who has been with SM Entertainment as an artist, we’ve decided to go our separate ways to promote each other’s growth,” it reads.
Wishing her the best in her future, it continues, “Please support Jessica as she embarks on a new beginning.”
And Jessica has released her own statement too, writing, “I cherish the time I’ve had with SM Entertainment, and wish luck on its future.
“And to my dear fans, I thank you for your unchanging support and love. I will do my best to show the fans what they want; please watch as I make a new start. Thank you.”
