Is EXO-M is becoming EXO-K’s better half? The Chinese sub-unit raked in big awards in China this week.
The rookie boy band made waves at two different ceremonies. On April 13, they won big time at the 1st Annual Yin Yue Tai V-Charts Awards in Beijing, where the six members were honored with “Most Popular Artist” and “Best New Rookie of the Year” titles for Mainland China.
On April 14, the 13th Annual Billboard Music Festival presented the band, which has both Chinese and Korean members, with the “Most Popular Group” award at the Shenzhen Poly Theater in Nanhan.
“We’re so happy for these acknowledgements,” member Kris, 22, told local media outlets. “We’ve worked really hard so this means a lot.”
And the “Mama” singers have some cheeky suggestions for other awards they could win. “Interaction with Luhan will make you feel really comfortable Lay’s level of concentration is extremely strong,” member Tao tells Ray Li magazine. “He becomes addicted to some things easily [like dancing]. Chen is always on alert, while Xiumin likes to be clean. He is good at organizing. [I’m] serious and Kris has really strong leadership skills. He is good at decision making,”
EXO-M and EXO-K, who recently celebrated their one-year anniversaries, are currently working on their follow-up albums with SM Entertainment.
