Think again before you send something to BTS.
Big Hit Entertainment today announced that the group will only be accepting fan letters from now on – no gifts.
The decision supposedly comes after the agency’s Seoul HQ was bombarded with generous gifts in 2017 from all around the world.
A source tells IdolWow!, “Fans send amazing gifts but there is no space to keep it all. There are hundreds of items coming every day. Many fans seem to try to outdo each other with bigger, bolder gifts and it’s important to the group that showing your support can come in a heartfelt letter and isn’t measured by the size of the gift.”
A statement on the group’s official fan cafe website reads, “After a long and thorough discussion with BTS members about the gifts that you send with sincere hearts, we decided not to receive any more gifts [delivery service and support] except letters.”
It added, “Only the gifts sent before 6pm on Friday, March 30 will be delivered to the group. After March 30, only letters can be delivered to them.”
There is still a way to get around the new rule. Apparently fan events prepared before BTS concerts in Korea or internationally allow gifting.
