Following reports that Block B’s Zico was involved in a car accident due to drunk driving, a police spokesman tells IdolWow! that the rapper was NOT at the wheel.
Korea’s Newsen reported that on July 8, the idol rapper was involved in a non-serious collision after attending bandmate Park Kyung‘s birthday party in Gangnam, Seoul.
But while some outlets breathlessly used headlines to make readers think Show Me The Money‘s Zico, 22, could have been driving the car, a Gangnam Police spokesman stresses to IdolWow! that the singer was not at all responsible for the incident.
“People should be aware that Zico was a passenger in the car and not the driver,” says the spokesperson. “A member of [Block B’s] management was at the wheel.”

According to police records, the driver passed a red traffic light, hitting another car in the process. No one involved was injured.
Seven Seasons, the agency Block B belongs to, has since said in a statement, “Both Zico and his manager had drinks [at the event], and the manager drove in order to get them home. The manager is deeply regretful for driving under the influence and we also apologise for the incident.”
Other celebrities at Park Kyung’s 23rd birthday party included the rest of the Block B gang, Teen Top’s C.A.P, Winner member Mino, former Kara star Nicole and Henry Lau and his We Got Married co-star Yewon.
