The K-pop world won’t be the same in 2018 with four members of Big Bang currently due to begin their mandatory military service.
Band member Daesung says he’s not sad about the upcoming mandatory military service.
Opening up to Japan’s Pon TV show on December 27, the singer said, “I’m not sad about the member enlistments at all. It’s because we’re so thankful when we think about the love you’ve given us so far.”
He added, “There are a few things you need to protect if you’re a Korean man. In the next two years, we’ll be keeping a lot of promises and returning in front of you all. Please wait a little while.”
G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri are all due to enlist in the South Korean military for two years of service by Spring 2018. T.O.P is already carrying out his duty as a public service worker while serving under the supervision of the Military Manpower Administration.
The group will not be returning as a five until early 2020. One of their final concerts will take place in Seoul at the end of this year, when they play on two nights – December 30 and 31.
