The end of an era? Lee Changmin of 2AM has left the agency that created his band to focus on a solo career.
A statement from JYP Entertainment today, August 5, confirmed that the 29-year-old singer is leaving as his contract with the label came to an end.
“Lee Chang Min’s contract expired on July 10,” says a spokesman “He has decided to not renew. As far as we know Lee Changmin is under discussions with Big Hit Entertainment.”
His departure means that it’s unlikely that 2AM will work together as a group again as member Jo Kwon is now the only member of the group that remains under JYP management.
Other members Lim Seulong and Jeong Jinwoon have already left the agency and signed with other companies in March prior to Lee’s departure.

JYP Entertainment have previously assured fans that 2AM is still an active active group and that the management changes will not affect the group’s activities, but realistically looking at the situation, it’s unlikely the group will be putting out new material any time soon..
